Most people on the Republican side of the aisle like to think that President Obama was elected solely based upon the color of his skin.
The truth on the other hand is really something quite different. President Obama was running for the Office of the POTUS against a white man, with a distinguished military and political career.
The whole issue of Barack Obamas race if anything was a negative and not something that could be used to his advantage. His early work and career history and his associations were all made into liabilities as well.
And although he had attended some of Americas most storied educational institutions, his academic achievements were denigrated and cheapened as though those university's had lowered their academic standards specifically for him.
The Republican Party has in the past and to this day still continue to use every form of nasty, vicious, vile and mean spirited lie, that there was or is to demean and degrade not only the President but also his wife and children.
Yet the President himself as well as the First Lady of the United States has continued to carry themselves in a manner that brings admiration, honor, dignity and respect to the office of the President of the United States.
I don't know if President Obama will run or even seek a second term in office. I mean the job itself has got to be strenuous and all of us know that it has turned the hair color of the all of our Presidents almost white except President Reagan, who I am certain dyed his own hair black to keep it from turning gray or white.
But one thing I know for a fact is that based upon intellect, common sense, mother wit, temperament and character, is the fact that John McCain was not suited for and may even have been mentally and intellectually incapable of commanding the office of the President of the United States of America.
As a American citizen, I myself am proud to say not only did I vote for him, but to this day I have no regrets and support him in each and every decision that he has made and will continue to make.
If the Republicans had a better white candidate that they felt would have made a better President and would have did a better job as President of the United States why on earth did they nominate John McCain?
